November 27, 2006 - A Chicago Fire Department ambulance was involved in a pin-in accident on its way to one of two train accidents which occurred within minutes of each other Monday morning on the city's West Side.
The Fire Department called an EMS Plan 1 at 8:10 a.m. for the pin-in auto accident at Keeler Avenue and Madison Street, according to Fire Media Affairs Assistant Eve Rodriguez.
The ambulance was en route to one of the train accidents, with sirens blaring and lights flashing when it crashed with another vehicle, Fire Media Affairs Cmdr. Will Knight said. The ambulance was not carrying any patients, he said.
